New trails

new trails on your door step are always good and Dan showed me one almost from his house, there was a bit of cheeky riding up a one way street, that nearly back fired due to oncoming traffic, narrowness and downhill gradient (don't try that at home kids!!) but we survived intact and headed down a long driveway which undoubtedly belonged to someone, someone who is probably royally pissed off that they have a bridleway running through there kingdom, but never the less we rode on, had a bit of a false singletrack moment when the short bit of over grown trail became so over grown it was impassable without serious injury from Brambles and other associated thorny, evil plants. bypassing this we hit a sweet bit of fairly smooth track alongside a field with great views of the surrounding countryside, then we caught up with a horse rider and friend on a bike, we closed the gates for them and then passed when it was safe to do so, suddenly we emerged opposite a pub! only shandy tonight as we were both working the next, after that it was a very quick blast along the canal tp home, kicking up rooster tails of dust, making the most of the dryness before Autumn descends. parting at the Withybed bridge my route then took me up the steep bridleway, ober Murder hill and home before the need to use lights above flashy level.
ride 110
14 miles
