we'd read about this shop on the internet, boasting some fancy bikes and a cafe for cyclists so today we tried to find it. Apart from the nemesis that is weatheroak hill it's a pretty flat route that also takes in Earlswood lake and some pretty countryside. The shop is in Hockley heath opposite a very posh car dealership. the cafe cab be access from the back of the shop and is secure to leave your bike in the back yard. they advertise hot sandwiches at the weekend using a BBQ but today we just had flapjack and millionaires short bread, the cakes were nice although straight out of a box in the fridge a little chewy and the coffee was drinkable, that's about all you could say for it. the shop was stocked with high end bikes from Colnago and Starley with some budget ones from Mekk. a smattering of low end Scott MTB's and CX completed the shop. lots of expensive Castelli clothing was also on display. So, room for improvement but it shows promise. the return journey was via Beoley and less hazardous than crossing a very busy dual carriageway as we had on the out ward leg
ride 108
27 miles
total 2249
august 278
commute 891
