Matt is back! it was great to be able to meet Matt on his bike and pedalling quite well for someone who's been off the bike for so long with injury and hip replacement, he did half the ride before sensibly turning for home but he wasn't too shabby at the climbs! great news and i hope he goes from strength to strength, slow and steady Matt!
after he left the rest of us shot down from the Beacon on a different trail from usual, it was very difficult to handle the bike over leaf strewn trails as you couldn't tell where the soft bits were until you were in them and either the wheels dug in and you suffered rapid deceleration or wildly whipping rear wheels...difficult but a great laugh! sessions of skidding (including front wheel lock-ups!) on the wet grass and in the playground followed before the freezing fog began to descend and i finished with an attempt at green hill.
