because of some weird calculation because of working at the same place for 10 years i got 2 hours extra annual leave, so i took them today and made the most of it by going for a ride. the woods were empty, the trails were drying out, it felt great! i found a new trail, steep, rocky, off camber and narrow, i nearly fell into the valley trying to eject myself form the bike whilst attempting to defy gravity, not a good idea, certainly got the adrenaline pumping!. i had a deadline to make but couldn't resist going back up to give "from the door" a try, it was much better than last time and quite firm under tyre. i made it back with about 2 minutes to spare. one thing about the ride though, after nearly 3 months of riding a fully rigid bike i really dislike climbing with suspension forks, even locked out ones, i expect more rides will get me used to it....or maybe i need to find a nice light rigid fork ?
ride 37
11 miles
total 650
commute 210.5
