such a cold day, frost overnight made everything outside look white and pretty but it meant that todays ride would be bitterly cold, wrapped up even more than for yesterdays snow and rain ride I met the lads and we chose a long canal route which should have been perfect because the really muddy parts should be firm with frost, For the main part this was correct although possibly what we thought would be the muddiest part still was, very much like cookie dough. Speaking of which we warmed ourselves with a cookie and coffee In deepest darkest Droitwich, played around the Lido (too cold for a dip though!) before turning towards home via the lanes and a special visit for Ben to Greggs, a fine pastry based meat product emporium. Ben celebrated this by tormenting the pigeons with his sausage roll. once again the issue for me was cold feet, despite airblock and merino socks, full length tights under baggies and the fact that my feet were completely dry, took me 30 mins when i got home to defrost them before i could get in the shower. I can complain too much though it was a stunningly sunny day
