the beat the rain ride

it was a great plan, go out whilst the sun was shining, beat the forecast rain and get back in time to watch the Tour de France on TV. the plan worked perfectly up until it started to rain persistantly. this, coupled with the already saturated ground and flooded roads combined to make the ride a bit more damp than it should have been. i made it to the cafe just as the deluge reached biblical proportions. Victoria sponge and coffee was scoffed and i left in slightly less forceful but just as wet precipitation. thankfully it wasn't at all cold so with time to spare before the Tour i took a longer route (including 3 cheeky laps of the Blackwell Olympic course) and got back in time to watch Chris Froome and Brad Wiggins doing Britain proud
ride 97
36 miles
total 1747

Good work on fitting the ride in and still catching that great stage finish!
