lights fitted, hipflask filled with home made strawberry vodka, still in shirt sleeves because it's so warm, lots of insects. we hit the trails, they've disappeared! a carpet of leaves, wind blown branches and detritis blankets everything, in the gloom of late evening it's hard to follow the route of trails that have been dry, dusty and well defined pathways for the last six months, we went completely off the route a couple of times. we explored high house woods a bit more and found a new route! with still more to explore. a short but sweet technical ride that also included some trail maintenance on "Bono" where we cleared a fallen tree that was blocking the trail at head height, not ideal to come across at speed in the dark!
