Scorching hot day today so the ride was left to the late afternoon in the hope it wouldn't be so hot. There was a little breeze which helped but it was wise to have worn a high factor sun screen. Run mostly on country roads the only hazard was the thousands of insects that seemed hell bent on committing suicide in the vents of my helmet. The ride also encountered a beer festival at the Weighbridge and a small amount of real ale was consumed which seemed to help us take on the Scarfield Hill climb without much drama.
