Yesterday I tuned into the Eurosport coverage of Omloop Het Niewsblad the 1st semi classic road race of this season. It was a typical Belgian race, with cobbles, rain, wind and low temperatures. In these conditions only the hard riders win and this time it was the Briton Ian Stannard who won the two up sprint over the line.
So because of the weather and the state of the roads I dedicate todays ride to Mr Stannard, ours was now where as hard and harsh as his but it did give us a taste of what it must have been like
