Ideal place for a puncture

Dan and I had a little singlespeed mountain bike adventure today, a lot of road riding was involved but we did manage to find quite possibly the muddiest bridleway in the NWAlps valley and around 8 miles of the route was in one long climb up the canal.
We had stopped for coffee after the climb of pig hill and just as we were about to leave i heard the tell tale hiss of air escaping from an inner tube and sure enough Dan had a front flat, of all the places to replace a tube, the front of a cafe must be one of the best, It was just after that that we got a bit lost, we vaguely knew where we were but got a bit disorientated and ended up back at the cafe! the pull of cake must be strong. We were still buzzing from the last coffee so didn't stop this time. It was a great day out and the lack of gears didn't hold us back but did make the route more interesting.
