it was touch and go whether i'd make this ride, i had to wait in for a delivery, luckily it arrived early so i had time to get to the start of the ride, I'll admit i had to give myself a metaphorical kick up the arse to leave the comfort of the sofa. When out though i soon got in the mood and after meeting the guys we risked the deep woods in the dark, trusting that there was safety in numbers, after all, when a group go into somewhere dark and foreboding in the movies nothing bad ever happens does it? well, nothing bad did happen unless you count floundering around in some very wet and thick deep mud is bad, well we are made of sterner stuff (thank goodness it was a warm night!) and embraced the filth, ragging the corners, sliding sideways along slick roots,hopping logs, ripping through low hanging branches and going of course quite a few times, awesome fun! we don't even get much of a funny look now when we end up in the pub splattered with mud from head to foot. a typical NW Alps ride infact :-)
