on the way back from the welsh trip we passed Hopton castle, since i last rode there (about 12 years ago) some proper way marked trails have been developed and we poped in for a look, it had been raining all day here and by the time we got there in the mid afternoon it was very wet, very muddy and very slippery. Ben and i got changed in the rain, grabbed bikes from the top of the car and tired out the "qualifier". the roots and corners were treacherous and within a few yards we were soaked and covered in mud, so after the last two days riding in our legs and a nice warm, dry car tempting us we gave in to it and called it a day.
