the new route ride

i was planning to retrace my route into Birmingham but this time in some dry (but bitterly cold) weather. i followe the canal to the south side of the Wast Hill Tunnel then joined the road and passed a puzzling building and onto the other side of the tunnel. the canal has a junction and you can go to Birmingham, Stratford or Warwick. having used the lower part of the north Stratford canal (the south i guess!) i knew a spot i could get off and find my way home, so that was it, plan chamged and new virgin towpath to explore. the going was good up until the brandwood tunnel where i had to come up to street level and try and find the othe side via a dodgy looking estate!. good old google maps on my phone helped out and i was soon back near the canal, the path deteriorated from here on but luckily because it was so cold the mud was frozen solid, not a route for a warmer wetter day as i'd have been unclogging the bike frequently and my speed would have been greatly reduced. the canal became much more rural after that with some great views. i got to Dickens heath where i got off the canal then followed lanes back to the right side of wast hill again and got home with totally frozen feet (and this morning chilblains OUCH!!)
ride 24
25 miles
total 449

I see that I am not the only one then that has been suffering with frozen feet on this weeks rides....
I asked for some solutions for this and have had a number of comments with various suggestions...nothing worse than frozen feet in my opinion.
