i was going to ride to a family party today, around 50 miles, but having had a cold since Tuesday i thought it would be prudent to do a trial run to see how i felt and also try out the new VeloCake bib shorts, they do make me look like a 70's wrestler but they were very comfy. i was glad i went out though as i discovered how windy it was. 50 miles into a headwind with a cold? no thanks! descretion is the better part of valour and all that and i decided to leave the longer ride for another day
