after spending 8 hours yesterday watching people race bikes at OSMountain Mayhem i was itchng for a ride and i neede to test a new bottom bracket and pump. the much neede rain has finally arrived in the last few days with some very heavy downpours over night, spring and summer seem to have swapped! the conditions ranged from bone hard to thick gloop and i certainly found the limit of adhesion of the rear Maxxis crossmark on a few of the corners. but, as it is summer it was very warm and humid in the woods. as we started the ride mid afternoon it was quite busy on the NW Alps but we rode politely and managed a good selection of trails and after dropping Matt off at home as he was feeling the pace i repeated the best ones and it was clear of people so i could let the brakes off!
