it had been raing for two days and desperate for more than just a local ride i decided to do a mini day tour, caught the train to Worcester (i have to say London Midland made it a painless experience to use their train) and then tried to find the quietest route to Evesham with an idea to visit the Hot Air Balloon festival. all this on a singlespeed mountain bike which actually makes a great "looking at the scenery" bike as once you reach top speed it bowls along without the stress of thinking you could go faster that you get on a geared bike. i went via Pershore and popped into Echelon bikes to ask for a cake and tea recommendation, nice shop but not really niche enough for me!. in the event i didn't stop and rode through the lovely rolling green countryside until i got to Evesham, unfortunately because of the windy conditions the balloons had been cancelled and the event without them was a bit rubbish so after riding around a bit i carried on to my goal of Bidford on Avon passing Long Lartin maximum security prison on the way. then out for Dinner with friends and a lift home
