simple plan for today, ride somewhere, have fun, get dirty. plan came to fruition. rode through the slop of the lickey hills admiring the abundance of bluebells, took the hard route over the Waseleys, found a new easier (less gates, not gradient) route to the top of the first hill, battled the fierce headwind to the top of the second hill and down for cake and coffee at the cafe. it started to rain while i was in there and it was hard to leave the comfort of log fire, free wifi and potentially more cake but i MTFU and headed back over the hill into lovely sunshine, back through the Lickeys and onto the B'ham Worcs canal, basked in the sunshine on the Aquaduct whilst chatting to the holiday boaters and got a sudden hankering for a libation. happily the Crown was open and a pint of Bank's Sunbeam hit the spot before i did the final climb to home. mission accomplished.
ride 66
16 miles
total 1190
