the forecast said rain at 12 noon, i spent the morning visiting DIY shops, got home at 11:30 was out on the bike and at Matt's for 12:10. i commented the BBC weather said it should be raining by now and as Matt shut the garage door the first spits of rain started, by the end of his drive it was a full on downpour, but we decided to MTFU as it wasn't cold and carried on. the going was very muddy, that thick cloying mud which would normaly clog wheels and components but because of the rain there were plenty of pools of standing water to wash the worst of it off as we pedaled along. Our goal was the Cafe at Waseley and typically as we parked the bikes outside it stopped raining. cake and tea consumed we made our way back over the hill, geting the full force of the wind at the top, thankfully without rain and would our way on increasingly more gloopy trails untill we arrived back at the Lickeys, it was here the rain started again and being close to home we decided to retreat to the dry and warm (not before a very cheeky route through elephant alley)
