after struggling with the sharp rises in the Lickey's and the prospect of riding the purbecks next week i decided to try 1x9, so far just using a front mech to sop the chain from comingoff, seems ok, no issues yet, apart from a stiff link after putting this chain on, easily solved with a bit of manipulation, will leave it as it is rather than buying a specific 1 x 9 chainguide
