i had noticed the gears skipping a little on the last ride, but i will admit, my chain maintenance isn't as good as it should be and (luckily after passing some young lads walking down the trail) as i put some power down to get up a steep climb the chain gave way and i had a painful interface with the top tube and used my gonads to steer the bike into a bush!. luckily i'd got a chain tool with me and was able to shorten the chain and carry on, but my heart wasn't in it after this and i ended up just playing around the Lickey hills
