with some annual leave to use up I had today to go and explore how bad the snow was on top of the Alp, well it was pretty bad actually, the picture shows one of the smaller drifts!, to be honest it was virtually unrideable in places, uphill or downhill, infact i think on the top i walked a lot more than i rode and even walking was difficult. It's all the fault of the high winds whih we've had all week. Roads , even the smallest lanes are clear though which makes it more frustrating. lower in the valley conditions are a lot better so i think until the thaw I'll be sticking to those routes
