the time travelling ride powered by mud

Autumn weather has properly set in and it's been heavily raining for two days, the dry trails of last weeks night ride are long gone.
After the futile wait to see if it would actually stop raining I just manned up, dug out the waterproof and hit the trails. They were sodden as expected but it was warm, i had the right clothing on and it was good fun, there's a perverse pleasure about getting completely covered in mud, everyone as a kid loves jumping in puddles, and playing in the dirt. As adults we tend to not participate in those activities much, this is where the mountain biker has the advantage, we are kids again, pressures of life get washed away with the spray from the front wheel, once the shock of the initial spattering is over you just plough through the deepest, thickest mud with an inane grin on your face, you are that 8 year old again without a care in the world with the added bonus of knowing no one is going to shout at you for going home with dirty knees and grass stains on your shirt!
after the ride i Jet washed the bike, then i got @charlotteTCR to jet wash me too!
ride 128
9 miles
total 2691
commute 1098
